Woman’s Exchange Gift Shop Seeking Volunteers
The Exchange is a unique, non-profit gift shop on Church Street in Little Silver. It started in Rumson
during the Depression years for women to bring in their handmade articles and sell them to help
support their families. This remains “our mission”. The shop continues to offer unique handmade
goods from over 250 craftspeople from all over the United States featuring baby and children’s
sweaters, blankets, smocked dresses, jewelry, accessories and gift items for the home. We also
carry a collection of items from quality gift manufacturers such as Vera Bradley designs.
Profits at the end of the year are distributed by the Board of Trustees to Monmouth County Charities.
Past recipients have included organizations such as Parker Family Clinic, 180 Turning Lives Around,
Saturday Soup in Asbury Park, HABcore, Behavorial Health Services, Lunch Break and Mary’s Place in
Ocean Grove. Since 1980 over $500,000 has been donated to area charities.
The Exchange is actively recruiting new volunteers. If you enjoy meeting friendly people, then this
is the place for you. Help customers select beautiful handmade gifts, ring up sales and wrap gifts. Be
the first to open new merchandise as it arrives. Volunteers are asked to commit only 2 morning (10-
1:30) or afternoon (1:30-5) shifts per month. All shifts are currently available. Stop in or call and speak
with one of our managers.
Store hours: Monday-Friday 10-5 Saturday 10-1. Extended hours on Saturdays 10-5 during holiday
periods.

Member Joe Stein Releases New Book!

Help Erica Melone, owner of Skin & Bones Day Spa in her fundraising for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Man & Woman of the Year.

I’m raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in memory of my late father in law, Bob Brummer. If you lost someone you love that you want to remember here is how you can help me, help you

A Memory Sponsorship is a $300. Donation to my 10 week fund raising campaign, in return I will be happy to help you keep the memory of someone special to you, alive.

Simply donate $300 by check or credit card. Next, email me 5 photos of your loved one and a story about them. It can be anything you want to say. Tell me about them, about what you love and miss and what you want people to know.

After June 15^th I will begin setting up our Memory Sponsor Facebook page where all of your stories and photos will be posted forever! My hope is this page will bring smiles to us and encourage others. I love the idea of having a scrap book (if you will) to share with all. There is no limit on Memory Sponsorship. With Mother’s Day and Father’s Day coming up I imagine this could be a nice gift or a great bonding project for a family.

(Think sticks, cleats, pads, skis, skateboards, skates, helmets, balls, nets and all the gear your kids have outgrown.)
